Rom. 9:6-29 - The doctrine of election is perhaps the most complicated part of biblical theology. It may seem illogical or unjust sometimes. Although it is impossible to answer all the questions that may arise concerning election, it is evident that the whole history of salvation is the history of God’s electing people. The fact that He elects prevents us from taking pride in ourselves, and it gives us hope.

Luke 8:18 - Dr. Yaremchuk describes three different responses to hearing God’s word. The first hear and don’t accept God or fear Him (Pharoah). The second hear but don’t act in obedience to God’s word (Jonah). The third hear and act by His words (Abraham). God promises many blessings to those who act according to His word. Will you be one who receives those blessings?

Ps. 23 - Many people today are full of fear, uneasiness, and anxiety. This is not only the case for unbelievers. Christians are also often beset by anxiety and doubt. Christians know that they should seek consolation in the loving Shepherd. We ask, how can I trust the Lord in times of trouble and hardship? Just like David, whatever happens in our lives, we can trust God as a:
1. Caring shepherd - 1-4
2. Hospitable host - 5-6

Luke 17:32 - Our world is like the city of Sodom. As children of God, our home is not here but it is in heaven. We are to live righteously, awaiting our home and enduring this life’s sorrows and torments. In this sermon, Dr. Yaremchuk draws three applications for our lives as he compares it with the life of Lot. “Don’t look back!”
