Dealing with Spiritual Crisis

Psalm 119: 9-16 - Spiritual crisis is the scariest thing that can happen to a believer, but the anchor that holds each of God’s children to Himself is His Word. Blessing will frequently come when we obey God’s Word, so blessed is the man who follows God’s Word. It is His Word that will keep us away from sin. It will lead us beside still waters and restore even the weariest believing soul.

Rom. 13:1-7 - People often take a critical view of the State’s power and blame it for their troubles. The State can even be a source of persecution for the Christian Church. Scripture however, does not encourage the Christian to harbor a negative approach to the authorities. The Bible teaches that the authorities that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, we have to learn to see our authorities’ activities as a means by which God care for us. In the long run, even persecution is useful for the Church. The Bible teaches that we should be subject to the authorities and only disobey if God’s Word would be violated if we follow the State’s demands.
